Billy and Steven “Muddy” Roues have been making music together since they were kids growing up in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn and in rural Pennsylvania. They are journeymen in the music business, having crossed paths with some of the greats of Blues, Rockabilly, Rock’n’Roll, Country, Soul, Folk, Jazz and Rhythm and Blues, including, B.B. King, John Lee Hooker, Carl Perkins, Bo Diddley, Howlin’ Wolf, Pinetop Perkins, Lonnie Mack, Vassar Clemens, Sonny Burgess, Dan Penn, Spooner Oldham, Luther Allison, Lenny Kaye, David Bromberg, Pete Seeger, Johnny Johnson and many more. The experience of working with those artists that were and still are mentors and idols to them, whether onstage, in the studio, in films and television or in the songwriting process, has left an indelible mark on the music the Roues Brothers are making today. Their History of Blues to Rock series of shows has been gathering an enthusiastic following over the last few years.
The Roues Brother’s music can be heard worldwide on the internet, in movie and television soundtracks and on numerous recordings available at most digital sites including; CDBaby, iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and the rest. The Roues Brothers have recently garnered new fans when a song of theirs, I’m Movin’ Out, was included in a popular video game, Fallout New Vegas, several movies and on the popular Netflix show Portlandia. The song is now their first digital single, released on June 4 of this year. Download stickers will be available at all shows. The music they have recorded with a number of their own UpSouth Recordings bands over the years is available at CDBaby.com and as well as Apple Music, Amazon, Spotify and many other online outlets and at all shows.
